We were recently approached to create the branding for start up building company MCR Projects.

MCR are a building firm who specialise in plastering, rendering and damp proofing. They wanted a brand for their business that represented the secure containment of a home or business against the elements – precisely what their service offers.

Taking this core idea of ‘protection’, we worked through several iterations of logo designs, eventually arriving at the idea of using a simple graphic of a house as the main aspect to the logo which formed a ’barrier’ around a warm yellow centre – the heart of the building. The stylised house was rendered (pardon the pun) with the secondary brand colours of orange and blue, the orange representing warmth, the blue representing moisture, the gap between the two colours the barrier between them.

The colours we picked were intentionally vibrant and warm, to help levitate the positivity and warmth provided by the business and give them a contemporary attractive look, despite the nature of their sometimes dusty and dirty work.

We love how the brand’s turned out. It’s a clever concept for a clever building company who are fast gaining a reputation for being one of the best in the business.
